The Channel Tunnel a marvel engineering feet that runs a 52klm rail tunnel beneath the English Channel with about 39klm of the rail under the water , in the earth beneath the bottom of the sea .
Its English terminal is located at Folkestone in Kent and the French terminal at Sangatte, 3klm from Calais. The terminal leads directly onto the M20 Motorway in England and the A16 in France . There are two ways to use the Channel tunnel. Channel tunnel tickets are bought for Eurotunnel rail shuttles carry vehicles (passengers remain in their cars ) on specially constructed trains between Folkestone and Calais which takes approximately 35 minutes . Eurotunnel trains depart every 15-60 minutes according to commands or alternatively tail tickets can be bought for passengers without vehicles can board the Eurostar

Eurostar trains terminals at London or Ashford and disembark at Calais – Fre’thun ,Lille or Paris on the French side of the Channel, Eurostar Cruises at speeds of 300klm . The journey from London to Paris takes about Two and a half hours or to Lille, two hours . There are up to twenty four departures daily from London to Paris . There is also a special weekly Eurostar services direct to Disneyland Resort (Daily during school holidays ) and in winter two trains weekly from London direct to the Ski resorts of the French Alps . Pre – booking tickets is advised and often entails lower prices on tickets and fares
